OUR HISTORY
Our lengthy history dates back to 1870, when the St. Mark’s Society in Rockville Centre, NY formed the church body. In 1871, our church was built at the corner of North Village Avenue and Merrick Road. Unfortunately, it was lost in a fire, and congregants were forced to share worship space with the Synagogue on Hempstead Avenue for nearly 70 years. In 1940, the first cornerstone was laid in our current building on Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre, and our first worship service was held in May of 1941!
